Words are not enough to thank and appreciate Mrs Susan Weems who until recently was the United States Coordinator of Catholic CHESS Project. Mrs Weems has worked so hard to ensure that no stone was left unturned in the development of the Project. Though it still looks like a dream to me, I cannot but face the reality that as much as she likes CHESS and would give everything she has for it, she has to slow down on a lot of matters as she is not getting younger. She has promised to continue to give whatever support that is possible. For this we also say “thank you” to Susan.
These past years I have enjoyed working with Mrs Weems who is very kind hearted and generous. And she has become the “mama” of CHESS. In fact our children call her ‘mum’ and though she lives far away, she knows each one by face and name. It is on record that Mrs Weems visited Nigeria to see the children at least three times (in 2004, 2006 and 2013). And I know that all our sponsors would agree
with me that we owe much of our successes to her. As she voluntarily retires officially from her services to CHESS, we wish Mrs Weems God’s continued blessing and guidance, health in mind and body; and above all very many more and enjoyable years in life. Amen.
